Artist Statement

Designing and creating textile art with a study of line, balance and symmetry is always a challenge, but I find working with color values the most challenging.   I love fabrics and the entire creative process.   Curved piecing is my favorite style, whether it is done with a custom designed pattern, or sewn by improvisation.  I love how curves give so much movement and freedom.  I am surrounded by nature and music every day, and this is where I find most of my inspiration.    I create with unique designer fabrics of all types,  that have wonderful texture and variety.  This helps to give my art pieces a rich look and feeling.  My goal is to continue to grow as a fabric artist, create pieces with aesthetic appeal, and add diversity to designs by learning new techniques and experimenting.    I am currently exploring more dimensional fabric art.  I became a member of Studio Art Quilt Associates in 2012.
